Legal Costs Disputes

Most disputes about legal costs in NSW are determined by the Costs Assessment scheme that comes under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of NSW.

Disputes about Legal Costs include:

  • Calculation of costs orders made in courts and tribunals between parties (i.e. one party is ordered to pay another party’s costs)
  • Calculation of costs between a client and that client’s former solicitor

This Costs Assessment scheme also has avenues of Review and Appeal.

We can assist with any of these matters and quite often, particularly with disputes between a client and their former solicitors, the clarification of any misunderstandings between a client and their former solicitors can lead to an early resolution of that dispute.
